Discovery Year 7. Session 5. Week 2.

This week, in addition to their usual teamwork, Discovery squads spent some time building their teams as they completed a squad flag challenge designed and presented by a Fellow Traveler.

Quest

This week in Community Garden Quest, Discoverers investigated the conditions that make a plant successful. Analyzing soil samples, testing seed scarification methods, and studying pollinators, learners worked hard to build the foundations for their own successful garden plots, which will be planned and built next week.

Writers’ Workshop

Discoverers worked on drafting their bedtime stories this week. Continuing to focus on idea development, learners workshopped their writing to change telling language into showing language.

Work Cycle

After meeting with their Growth Circles last week to set session-long goals, Discoverers were focused during their Work Cycle time. Additionally, after some challenges last week, art was put on hold and learners took that time to make progress in their Lexia programs.
