Peak Studio: Year 8, Session 1, Week 3

This week in the Peak Studio, the Peak learners returned to the studio after an eventful trip and got grounded in the rhythms of daily life together. Each morning began with a workout and meditation, giving learners a way to set their minds and bodies before the work of the day.

The main tool that was practiced this week was time blocking. The learners practiced planning their days through Cal Newport’s framework for time blocking and taking daily steps toward their goals. Work Cycles became a lab for trying new time management techniques, especially in math, and reflecting on what worked and what didn't.

Learners also began building an accountability system for their studio. They worked on their Rules of Engagement and their contract, and asked what it takes to hold themselves and each other to the standards they set. They named the obstacles that can pull a Hero off course, resistance, distraction, and victimhood, and talked about how a growth mindset helps them keep moving forward.
